SAFE, CLINICAL SKIN TAG REMOVAL
Skin tag removal is a safe and simple procedure that is undertaken here, at our Norfolk Skin Tag Removal Clinic, by our nurse-led team of clinicians.
It is not clear why some people are more prone to having skin tags than others, but some people may have several and others none at all. At our clinic, you can have more than one tag removed within one treatment session. While some skin tags might look like warts, they are not contagious and they won’t return once removed professionally.
The preferred option for skin tag removal at our Norfolk skin Tag removal clinic is to have them removed by freezing them off. This is known as cryotherapy. It is almost the most convenient method of removal for our clients. While skin tags can also be taken away by cutting or burning them off, we prefer to use cryotherapy, or laser, at our Norfolk clinic.
HOW WART REMOVAL CLINIC CAN HELP
When you arrive at our Norfolk Wart Removal Clinic, you will have your tag or tags clinically assessed by one of our nurses in the clinician team. Almost all tags are suitable for removal. Following assessment, you will have nitrous oxide applied to the area through a pen-like precision tool. Nitrous oxide is also known as N20 and it is very cold. Used to freeze the stalk of the skin tag, this will stop the blood flowing to the skin tag which effectively kills it.
While the pen-like tool will not penetrate your skin, you may feel a sensation which is similar to the feeling of a ballpoint pen nib touching your skin. When applying the nitrous oxide to the site of the skin tag, the nurse might find that they need to make a second application of the device and the nitrous oxide. This will depend on the size of the skin tag. Although most tags can be effectively dealt with in only one treatment, it may be that larger skin tags need further treatment within a second session.
Following the nitrous oxide procedure, you might feel a tingling in the treatment area. While it is not a painful treatment, you might find that you experience a gentle stinging throughout the remainder of the day.
After the cryotherapy, you will notice that the skin tag starts to change colour, becoming darker. You will also notice that it starts to dry out and become crustier as time passes. This is a good sign which indicates that the skin tag is dying. Within days, the tag will just fall off itself. While you may notice a small mark where the skin tag has left your skin, this will go away in time. When this has healed, you will be able to apply skin care as normal to the area.
You may have questions or queries about the treatment. Please do get in touch with our nurse-led Norfolk Skin Tag Removal Clinic team, who will be happy to help.
