WART REMOVAL London

Our nurses will meet with every skin tag client at our London Wart Removal Clinic. Our nurses will clinically assess the tag or tags prior to removal. Usually, most skin tags are suitable for removal. When assessed, our nurse will apply nitrous oxide to the treatment area. The application utilises a precision tool that looks like a ballpoint pen. Nitrous oxide is also known as N20; it is very cold and is used to freeze the skin tag’s stalk. This effectively kills the skin tag by stopping the blood flow to the rest of the tag.

The tool is not sharp and will not penetrate the skin during treatment. When the nitrous oxide is applied to the skin, it will not hurt. It will feel like a ballpoint pen is touching the skin. When the nurse has applied the nitrous oxide for the first time, they may feel like thy would like to make a second application depending on the size of the tag. They will do this in the same treatment and most tags can be treated in a single sitting. It might be, however, that your skin tag requires further treatment in a second session. This can happen for unusually large skin tags.

Following nitrous oxide treatment, the client might feel a tingling sensation in the area around the skin tag. It’s not a painful feeling – neither is the treatment – but you may feel a very mild stinging during the rest of the day.

Once completed, you may see your skin tag change colour after the cryotherapy treatment. It will become darker over the next few days and it might feel as if it is drier than before and a little crustier. This is a good sign as it means that the skin tag is dying. Within a few days, it will fall off completely. You might find that there is a small mark where the skin tag has fallen off but this will disappear over time. When the area around treatment has healed, you can practice your normal skin care routine.

Some people are more prone to skin tags than others, however it is not clear why this might be the case. You may opt to have more than one skin tag removed at a time. Skin tags may sometimes look like warts; however, they are neither contagious and they will not grow back once removed.

Our preferred option – and the most convenient for our clients – is to have skin tags removed via freezing. This process is known as cryotherapy. Skin tags can also be removed by cutting them off or burning them off, however at our clinic, we prefer to use cryotherapy.
