SAFE, CLINICAL SKIN TAG REMOVAL
Skin tag removal is a safe and simple procedure that is undertaken here, at our Rutland Skin Tag Removal Clinic, by our nurse-led team of clinicians.
While it’s true to say some people are more likely to have skin tags than others, there doesn’t seem to be an obvious reason. If you have more than one skin tag that you’d like to have removed, we can take care of this in the one session. Although skin tags can look like warts, they’re not contagious and won’t grow back after removal.
While there are several options that can be used to remove skin tags, such as cutting or burning them off, we use neither of these option at the Rutland skin Tag removal clinic. We prefer to use the freezing method, known as cryotherapy. We find our clients prefer this option too. At our Rutland Skin Tag Removal Clinic, we might also use laser treatment.
HOW WART REMOVAL CLINIC CAN HELP
All skin tag clients at the Rutland Wart Removal Clinic will have their tags assessed clinically by one of our nurses. Most tags are found to be suitable for removal. After assessment, the nurse will apply nitrous oxide – known as N20 – to the area. Using a pen-like precision tool, nitrous oxide is very cold and freezes the skin tag’s stalk. This stops the flow of blood to the skin tag, effectively killing it.
While the pen won’t penetrate your skin, the pen device may feel like the tip of a ballpoint pen is touching your skin. When applying the nitrous oxide, the nurse might find they need to apply the pen more than once in the same treatment, but this depends on the skin tag’s size. Usually, tags can be entirely treated in one session, however unusually large skin tags might require a further treatment during a subsequent treatment session.
After the procedure, the client might feel a light tingling in the area. It’s not painful, but you may then feel a mild stinging for the rest of the day.
Following cryotherapy treatment, the skin tag darkens, changing colour in the days after treatment. Your skin tag might feel like it is drying out and feeling crusty. A good sign, this shows that the skin tag is dying. Within days, the tag will totally fall off. You may find a small mark where the skin tag was, but this will vanish in time. Once the area has healed, you will be able to return to your skincare routine as before.
