YOUR REASSURANCE
SAFE, CLINICAL SKIN TAG REMOVAL
Skin tag removal is a safe and simple procedure that is undertaken here, at our Scotland Skin Tag Removal Clinic, by our nurse-led team of clinicians.
For people with skin tags, it is likely that they will have more than one. While it’s not clear why, some people are simply more prone to skin tags than others. You can have one or multiple skin tags removed during your session. While some skin tags can look like warts, they won’t grow back after treatment and aren’t contagious.
At our clinic, we prefer to remove skin tags by cryotherapy. Cryotherapy is a freezing treatment and we find that it is the most convenient option for our clients too. While skin tags can be removed by either cutting or burning them off, we prefer to use cryotherapy or laser at our Merseyside skin Tag removal clinic.
HOW WART REMOVAL CLINIC CAN HELP
At our Scotland Wart Removal Clinics, every client will have their tag or tags clinically assessed by one of our nurses. We find that most tags are suitable for removal. Following our nurse’s assessment, they will use a precision tool to apply nitrous oxide to the area. Resembling a pan, the tool delivers nitrous oxide, known as N20. Very cold, nitrous oxide freezes the stalk of the skin tag which stops blood flow to the tag and effectively kills it.
While the pen will not penetrate the surface of the skin during treatment, its application to the skin has a similar sensation to having the nib of a ballpoint pen touch your skin. During the nitrous oxide treatment, your nurse might decide to apply the device within the same treatment. It can depend on the skin tag’s size. Usually, tags can be dealt with effectively in just one treatment but particularly large skin tags might require another session of treatment.
While the procedure is not painful, you may experience a gentle tingling sensation in the area after the Nitrous Oxide has been applied. You may then feel a mild stinging for the rest of the day, post-treatment.
Following cryotherapy treatment, tag will darken, changing colour. You may also note that the treated tag will feel as if it is becoming drier and crustier. This is a good sing and shows that the skin tag is dying as it should. In the days after treatment, the tag will simply fall off altogether. You may notice a slight mark where the skin tag has left the skin, but this will go away over time. When this area has healed, you can re-apply your normal skincare as usual.

Some people are more prone to skin tags than others, however it is not clear why this might be the case. You may opt to have more than one skin tag removed at a time. Skin tags may sometimes look like warts; however, they are neither contagious and they will not grow back once removed.
Our preferred option – and the most convenient for our clients – is to have skin tags removed via freezing. This process is known as cryotherapy. Skin tags can also be removed by cutting them off or burning them off, however at our clinic, we prefer to use cryotherapy.
