WART REMOVAL Surrey

All skin tag clients at Surrey Wart Removal Clinic have their tag or tags clinically assessed by our nursing team. Almost every tag is suitable for removal. Following assessment, our nurse will apply nitrous oxide to the tag using a pen-like precision tool. Nitrous oxide – or N20 – is very cold and kills the tag by freezing stalk of the skin tag and stopping the flow of blood to the tag.

The pen does not penetrate the skin, but application to the skin may feel like a ballpoint pen touching the skin. During the application of nitrous oxide, your nurse might decide to apply the device more than once. This can dependent on the size of the skin tag. Usually, tags can effectively be treated in one treatment, but larger skin tags can take further treatment in another session.

Following the treatment, the client can feel a tingling sensation in the area. While the treatment isn’t painful, you can find that it may sting in the area of treatment for the rest of the day.

After cryotherapy, your treated skin tag will change colour, becoming darker. In the days after the treatment session, the skin tag may feel drier and crusty. A good sign, it shows that the skin tag is dying. In a few days, the tag will totally fall off. You may see a small mark where the skin tag has come away, but this will go over time. When healed, you can return to your skin care routine as normal.

Some people are more prone to skin tags than others, however it is not clear why this might be the case. You may opt to have more than one skin tag removed at a time. Skin tags may sometimes look like warts; however, they are neither contagious and they will not grow back once removed.

Our preferred option – and the most convenient for our clients – is to have skin tags removed via freezing. This process is known as cryotherapy. Skin tags can also be removed by cutting them off or burning them off, however at our clinic, we prefer to use cryotherapy.
