WART REMOVAL West Midlands

All skin tag clients at our West Midlands Wart Removal Clinic will be clinically assessed by one of our nursing. Most tags are suitable for cryotherapy. Post-assessment, our nurse will apply a precision tool that looks like a pen to freeze the skin tag with nitrous oxide. Very cold and known as N20, nitrous oxide stops blood flow to the skin tag and effectively kills the tag through stemming its blood flow.

The precision tool will not penetrate your skin, but you might feel the sensation of the tip of a ballpoint pen upon your skin. The nurse may decide to apply the pen more than once during treatment – it depends on the size of the tag being treated. While tags can usually be treated entirely in one session, particularly large tags might require a second session. 

Sometimes, clients can feel a gentle tingling sensation around the treatment area after cryotherapy. Cryotherapy does not hurt, but you might feel a slight stinging feeling for the remainder of the day.

After nitrous oxide treatment, your skin tag will darken over the next few days. This change in colour, with the tag crusting and drying is a good sign that the tag is dying. In a few days, your tag will fall off. While you may notice a small mark, this will vanish in time. When the area has totally healed, you can resume your usual skin care routine.

Skin tag removal is a safe and simple procedure that is undertaken here, at our Clinic, by our nurse-led team of clinicians.

Some people are more prone to skin tags than others, however it is not clear why this might be the case. You may opt to have more than one skin tag removed at a time. Skin tags may sometimes look like warts; however, they are neither contagious and they will not grow back once removed.

Our preferred option – and the most convenient for our clients – is to have skin tags removed via freezing. This process is known as cryotherapy. Skin tags can also be removed by cutting them off or burning them off, however at our clinic, we prefer to use cryotherapy.
